A great shot from our archives.
Today, Building B is much longer and includes 5 exhibit halls. When this photo was taken, construction was beginning on the expansion which brought the GWCC’s total square footage up to 2.5 million and increased the facility’s exhibit space to 950,000 square feet in eight exhibit halls. (Construction of Building C increased space to our current 3.9 million total square feet and 1.4 million square feet of exhibit space.)
Simultaneously, the Georgia Dome was under construction and upon completion would become the largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world.
Both projects were completed in 1992. Big year for our campus!
