It’s official! Googie Burger knocked it out of the park at the 3rd Annual Battle of the Burgers. The burger boss battled it out against 15 Atlanta restaurants leaving both crowds and judges in awe with the winning Short Rib Bacon Cheddar Burger (Georgia grass fed smoked short rib with Nueske’s Bacon, Red Dragon cheddar cheese, Vidalia onions marinated in Coca-Cola Ketchup, cilantro cole slaw, fried bread and butter pickles on a fresh pretzel bun). Googie Burger walked away with its head held high winning both Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards for Best Burger! As the People’s Choice winner, Googie Burger has been invited to compete in the World Food Championship.
The Googie Burger team, including chef Frank Abbinanti, now has 51 days to prepare for the knockdown, drag out battle! “The excitement has been mounting since the Battle of the Burgers and now our kitchens are heating up again as we prepare to represent Googie Burger and Atlanta,” says chef Abbinanti. To celebrate the win, Googie Burger plans to offer the award-winning burger at the restaurant starting Friday September 14th. Meat lovers prepare, this burger packs a punch!
